Evidence of Outcomes

Workplace Plus Profiler is designed to identify traits associated with neurodiversity, and provides a personalised onscreen and emailed pdf’ report when completed.

The report is based on your responses. The process may be see seen as part of a self-help process with guidance and tips to help maximise your strengths, as well as providing you with evidence where an in-depth assessment may be considered.

Research basis
WorkplacePlus Profiler has been developed and refined over the past 10 years and is the work of two internationally recognised experts in this field, Dr. Ian Smythe and Professor Amanda Kirby. It has involved reviewing the responses of more than 15,000 individuals as well as seeing more than 8,000 individuals through clinical environments.

Restrictions and result caveats
WorkplacePlus Profiler is research-based, with a target audience of those who are 16 years and older. Note that WorkplacePlus Profiler combines criterion-based results (if you can do something or not) and normed based results (if other of the same age can do it).

If, against recommendations, it is used for younger individuals, the recommendations may not be appropriate.

Clinical Safety
This WorkplacePlus Profiler is a screening tool and this is clearly stated within the confirmation of Terms and Conditions. Note that since many of the users will be dyslexic, and therefore these Ts and Cs are all voiced.  However, responses to the questions may assist in speeding up the assessment process and have been used by some as part of a “pre-assessment registration” process.

Data Protection
This Profiler was developed as a simple online screening tool and collects data that is used in the development of the recommendations. In addition, gender and date of birth are collected to help Do-IT researchers understand who are the users. The Profiler does ask for a User Name and email address to send the report. Some individuals may wish to pass on the report to their “supervisor”. The name on the report will be that provided by the individual. A helpdesk contact is available to assist in deleting an individual. All personal data related to an individual (Name, email address) is automatically deleted after two years in line with GDPR, Information Commissioners Office and Data Protection Act 2018 guidelines.

Do-IT Solutions has Cyber Essential Plus certification and is fully compliant with industry best practice.

Usability and Accessibility
WorkplacePlus Profiler has been designed by usability and accessibility experts who have published on the subject. Of particular importance is that all questions are voiced, such that all questions can be read aloud. Text is clear, well-spaced and easy to read. The layout is designed to be accessible to all those with the target neurological issues, and compliant with agreed international standards for digital accessibility for this type of app. This is to ensure they provide access to as many people as possible, including older users, younger users and those with disabilities. This might involve being able to increase text size where needed and work with voice software to help visually impaired people.

WorkplacePlus Profiler is an online service, which should work in most up-to-date browsers. However, the recommended browser is Chrome.

Technical Stability
WorkplacePlus Profiler has been widely tested and is considered a stable environment. To ensure the Profiler can take account of up-to-date technology, it is advisable to use up-to-date browsers.
